A crucial initiative by the Tikvah Foundation aimed at combating malnutrition and hunger among homeless and vulnerable children. This program provides daily hot meals to 100 current and former street children and youth in the Deep Sea Slums of Highridge. Each day, 80 current street children receive one hot meal, while 20 former street youth living in a center in the slum get an additional meal in the morning and evening.
Malnutrition poses a significant threat to the health and well-being of these children, often exacerbating their vulnerability and hindering their development. By ensuring that they have access to nutritious meals, the feeding program helps improve their health, concentration, and overall quality of life. This support is vital for their physical and mental growth, enabling them to participate more effectively in educational and recreational activities.
In addition to providing meals, the program fosters a sense of community and belonging among the children, offering them a safe space where they can gather and feel supported. Through this initiative, the Tikvah Foundation not only addresses immediate nutritional needs but also contributes to the long-term goal of uplifting and empowering vulnerable youth.
