Our organization was founded by Angela Mburu, whose passion for outdoor activities led her to network with people from diverse backgrounds and identify societal challenges. This passion laid the foundation for Tikvah, with a mission to uplift lives through various programs and initiatives.
At Tikvah Foundation, we engage in a variety of projects aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable populations
We organize team-building activities such as hiking and running marathons, which promote resilience, perseverance, and wellness. Notable events include expeditions to Mt. Meru, Mt. Kenya, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Rwenzori Mountains, and Everest Basecamp, as well as participation in marathons like the Kilimanjaro Half Marathon and the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon.
We support homeless children by providing educational opportunities at the secondary school level through partnerships. Our aim is to give these children a chance to continue their education and break the cycle of poverty.
Through our feeding programs, we provide hot meals to 100 current and former street children/youth daily in the Deep Sea Slums, ensuring they receive proper nutrition.
We provide reusable pads and conduct menstrual health workshops for adolescent girls, empowering them with knowledge about their bodies, hygiene, and self-care, ensuring they stay in school and manage their periods with dignity.
Our outreach programs offer education, networking, and resources to parents and caregivers of differently abled children, helping to enhance their quality of life. We also collaborate with organizations to equip adolescents with basic skills for advanced technical education.
This outdoor education and recreation program equips children aged 6 to 16 from vulnerable backgrounds with critical 21st-century life skills and knowledge of the UN SDGs, fostering a better future for the planet.
